Nancy Degan's art captures the vitality and emotions of her subjects. Early on in life, Nancy's drawings of horses looked like you could reach out touch them. Growing up in a rural horsey community outside of Memphis,Tn. with her parents and three brothers, Nancy's inspiration came from her own ponies and horses. She would take her sketch book out to the barn and draw her ponies for hours, capturing every detail. Nancy's favorite subject has always been horses... and oceans. Nancy has won championships show jumping horses she trained. As a riding instructor, children and celebrities learn to ride horses with confidence. Nancy has trained her trick horses for tv, commercials and movies such as The Late Show with David Letterman, the NBC Chip and Pepper Show, America's Got Talent (with her miniature horse Cherry), Meet Wally Sparks, Animal Planet's You Lie Like A Dog, & General Hospital . Nancy holds a B.F.A. from Memphis Academy of Arts, major in sculpture. Nancy has cast her work in bronze, sterling silver, and gold.
Nancy has sold her work at Churchill Downs, and is collected by attorneys, doctors, celebrities and people from all walks of life.
